I was wondering if there is a website were you can search for servers or is there a time were the game picks up?

Any time after 5:00 PM people seem to start playing.
RA3.. some times all day.
Most of the regulars are playing quake live, which is still in closed beta.

no one joins empty servers unless they organise a game with a friend these days..
unless you're prepared to idle on a server for a little bit you wont get a game
the bummer is that sometimes you have to idle for a while to get a game..
some programs can monitor when players join a server so u can do other stuff while you have quake in the background
Try this New Zealand server 60.234.73.177:27965 alot of new players play there.
It's busy all day, but to play on it you need a working cd key and 100's of retarded, obscure maps that could take you days to find.

not really neg, cug is right. they got bored playing those maps day in day out, they've changed their mapcycle heaps.
but you can find the maps fairly easily, except the ones with "+" in their name. haha nfi how to make google search for filename with a + in it.
Yeah that fucks me about google. I sent them an email about it but I just got some retard auto response. You can search for the + using either live or yahoo (can't remember which).
Have you tried using quotation marks? Eg. "map+name" instead of map+name
when finding q3 maps, you only really need to find out what the file itself is called (it'll tell you when you try to connect, "blahblah.pk3" not found etc)
then you open google, and search "blahblah.pk3" and you can download it really easily.
but a few maps on that server are like 7+, 6+, 1++ etc, and searching "1++.pk3" doesn't give results.

The quotes don't do shit, the plus still gets taken out of the search.
i reckon it'd be mad if google had like an advanced search feature that let you use regex or something. not that i know regex :D but still, i'd learn regex if you could use it in google.
that said, you gotta admit, google is a frickin mind reader xd
