Just wondering if this is worth swtiching over from Optus cable :)
More info on the quota:
If you exceed your 40gb PEAK quota you are shaped for PEAK hours
If you exceed your 110gb OFF PEAK quota you are shaped for your OFF PEAK hours
You do not get shaped for BOTH times unless you exceed BOTH quotas.
They aren't the only ones with plans like these.
COMCEN & Spin (our hosts) also provide a 150GB plan.
And if you're playing games, TPG have one of the worst networks in the country.
I'm in the market for an ADSL plan, priority being gaming ping over data allowance (and yes I've also heard the TPG network is shit)
What's the general consensus on ADSL providers with low pings? Internode and iinet? Both of these providers have ADSL2+ DSLAMs active in my area (Brunswick, VIC) and reasonable data allowances.
My brother is on tpg, and they are pretty shit awful.
Andy: crus and doofy are both on Internode (Chatswood, NSW) - and the pings they get are generally as good as my Bigpond Cable, if not better.
they're always better wench - as long as the line can handle the low latency profile.
Was looking at the comcen and spin plans.... What the hell is the difference between the 2 anyway the websites are identical. The 40/80 plan looks very nice too for 60 bucks. But im an ADSL2 noob so i dont know if that price includes an ADSL2 modem... I guess not. And how much do i need to pay for line rental.... I could probably find these answers by spending more than 2 minutes browsing through the site but id rather spend 5 minutes writing this and an extra half a day waiting on a response.... :P
Ninja a few ISPs have "naked" ADSL plans now, meaning you don't need to pay for line rental, but you don't get a home phone. These plans save you about $10/month over a regular ADSL/home phone combo. Whirlpool.net.au if you wana research and compare plans
Wench ta for the feedback I was previously on Optus cable so it's good to hear ADSL can be competitive if not better
i believe that ninja's real name is raph or ralf or rofl or something along those lines :P
