I spoke to discostu (guy who helps organise this) a couple of months ago, and he asked if I could help with seedings. I tried my hardest to get them to change the game to Q3 and no dice. According to him the sponsors wont budge.

you can say no to a first prize valued at 4 grand if you want, but im not. the flights will be payed for, the prizes rock and it's not cs. it's a lot better than what has been happening for the quake series in recent years, unless you want to move to a different country you won't get better prizes for playing a quake game.
and i've played most of the players signed up wch, so i can help a bit with seeding if needed.

And yeah, the prizes etc are good for a Quake game.. it's just a shame they chose the worst Quake game to give them away for. The reason I'm not signed up anymore is because I don't think the prizes are worth the agony of having to put up with Q4 :> Each to their own I guess.

I jumped onto GA a few days ago when I installed to make sure I had the maps working for group stage, and they still aren't using the updated maps, like 1.1 monsoon etc i think.
would you expect any better from gamearena? :P
