i've got an asus vw222 22" lcd screen. in games it seems to randomly switch on and off for about 20 seconds and then switch off completely. it started only doing it in games, but now it does it on just the desktop. before it switches on and off it has blue pixels smeared randomly over the screen. i first thought video card but i've had this monitor on different pc's and it does the same thing.
everything is set up right, it shows up as digital in display properties and i've installed the asus drivers.
when it first did it i got another dvi cable and it was fine for about a month until it started doing the same thing again. so i just keep switching between the two cables whenever it starts mucking around and that seems to fix it for a few hours.
but i want to determine if it's because of the two generic(cheap) dvi cables being damage or there is something wrong with the monitor. i'm inclined to think it's the cables seeing as tampering with them (switching them around the other way and swapping them) fixes it temporarily.
anyone else had similar problems?

Samsung 225BW :)
the ASUS monitors are actually highly regarded. You have a faulty one and I would take it back for replacement.
DVI cables, as cheap as they are, wouldn't show dots all around the screen.. it's either all or nothing with digital (1 or 0 :p)
If you're that concerned, I have boxes of DVI cables from rollouts at work, I can hand over a few, but I would just take the monitor back.
