Dexter. Be warned, no other show will compare after you watch it...

entourage is me fav, if you havnt seen it there is 4 seasons to break your cap, life and journeyman are good, weeds is a classic. The rest i get are pretty much easy viewing shit and up to date here on free to air, like lost, supernatural and sarah connor. An old one worth getting is called firefly.

Also if you like Greys, then Private Practice will probably be to your liking. There is also CSI and spin offs, Law and order and spin offs and NCIS as well.

Firefly is pretty cool, pity it doesnt seem to go further than season 1.

During the day, Dexter Morgan is a jovial employee in the Miami Metropolitan Police Department's crime lab, but his meticulously crafted life masks his true nature. In reality Dexter is a disciplined and murderous psychopath (a self-admitted "monster"), and he slakes his blood lust at night by carefully killing the serial killers he tracks down during the day.
LOL so getting that

hm, someone else recommended firefly too, i'll get that too.
speaking of seinfeld, i should watch that too. ack, ill make a list of stuff recommended.
anything else?

Jekyll, 6 part mini series, final 2 episodes on ABC Sunday night, one of the best things I've ever seen on TV.

Arrested Development, bringing Sitcoms back to Seinfeld's level, only lasted 3 seasons though, because it was too complicated for the average American.

Scrubs
Sex and the City
Drawn Together
Greg The Bunny
The Tick
The Wonder Years
Heroes Season 1 (all except the final episode - what a fucking disappointment)
Black Adder
Carnivale
Deadwood
Summer Heights High & We Can Be Heroes
Dilbert
Alan Partridge

That should last you a couple of years and overload with some well above average writing.

unholeee: Why S1 only?
DeKrow: Fuck yeah with Heroes. I couldn't be fucked after that last ep. Deleted all my eps the other day. Waste of space (even though i have 900gb)

Aaah the innocence of youth. No, but there were a couple of 'specials', most (but at the same time least) notably the one he did a few years after the TV series concluded, which wasn't really very good (it had a time machine in it). The TV show was co-written by Rowan Atkinson and he starred in it, and it was outstanding, though it may have aged a little now. Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie (yes, House) are in it also, and both are brilliant. "I have a plan so cunning you could stick a tail on it and call it a weasel" classic.

@noetix: let's have a fist fight despite the fact I can turn myself invisible and you can throw me with your mind! Well played writers, stay on strike!

And since noiZe mentioned Underbelly (which I haven't seen so can't comment) go search out Blue Murder - an Australian mini-series about police corruption in the late 70's early 80's (there's a non-Australian TV series of the same name that's unrelated, don't mistake it). I don't have a copy of it and haven't seen it in years, but you can probably get it on DVD at an ABC shop.

Not so much a spin off, it's more of 2 hour sequel episode.

And a fucking brilliant one at that :D

So sad that it got axed, I actually got upset when i watched the last episode of firefly LOL

Ghost in the Shell (The Stand Alone Complex) is also excellent - it's anime, if that's your flava. I recommend the movies as well, but don't try too hard to entirely understand the 2nd movie (called GITS2: Innocence), just enjoy the majesty.

unifex: looking forward to the final season of BSG, it should be something special.
