it isnt nearly that bad.. i have a p4 3.2/1gig/6800gts and it takes like not even 2minutes to load a map, given i may get shit fps but its fairly smooth
plus you need to give it moar time when first playing it not just 20minutes like 2-3hours :p

some tips:


Read the tips that are displayed when waiting to join a server / map change.

Good way to get a feel for the game is to play medic both gdf/strogg, then move into class's like fieldy or engi.

I would recommend atleast 1-2 3map series on each class.


And neg's right.. You cant rate the game/expect to know it in 3 hours.. I reckon you need closer to 10-15

Great game by my gameplay.

Loading time under 30 secs.. how the hell would this load any longer?
Graphics top notch at 1920x1200 resolution with 30fps this is with my old SLI system too!
Movement is what I had expected.... who the fuck said they move too fast? More like battlefield takes 1 hour to get from one spot to another.

Great how they made each class their own objectives.
Great how the front line shifts from one place of the map to another making it feel like playing many maps in one go.
Spawn points rock you don't always spawn in the same spots allowing less spawn killing.

Field ops are a bit handicapped in that deploying and targeting takes a while but this evens it more than the et field ops I guess.

People said you die fast yeah true but you spawn fast and move fast anyways.

LOL at people complaining that it has shitter graphics than BF2 and that guns actually hit people or that people move too fast.

Anyways I like it :D But time is restricted atm.

Plus can't afford the full game atm since I'm forking out for a 50 inch plasma within this month.

edit: Also air units can take damage from standard rifles !! Thats good and also good that your mounted rocket launcher has a targeting system and can actually HIT the air units unlike another shitty game.

Vechiles are plentiful but not necessary to win.

I'll try installing and run these on the university computers. Got a friend with access to the thesis labs with 24/7 booking for a computer in there. Powered by a nvidia 8800GTS and a firegl. We can use it as a server and everyone else can play on the core2duos with X300 graphics :D

you only get 30fps? :) - my work machine produces better than that and it's a dell.

if i really wanted to, i could run it on 800x600 or 1024 on "high" and it runs "okay", but is laggy for the first few minutes or so..

if i play on low settings on 800x600 everything is "smooth-ish"

and my pc is a, 3200+ socket 754, 512ram, geforce 6800ultra...

Just use com_unlock_timingmethod 0 to unlock the fps.
