MX510 Died

xio, 05:23pm 8th September go to general discussion

Soooo after a couple of years my MX510 finally decided to die. Yeh.. unfortunately it is very random now, and stops working when you least expect it will. So I decided to buy another one but it seems practically impossible to find one in Australia. It is weird though, because I remember last year I saw a few of them on EB Games stores around Melbourne.

Anyway.. I was wondering if you guys can post your thoughts about a good gaming mouse which can replace my MX510. Let the mice battle begin.

yeeh true the ie 3.0 beast... Well it was great when I used it while my MX500 arrived, but the Mouse1 and Mouse2 buttons were too sensitive to the touch which I didn't like... Maybe I'll give it a try, I think they have released it again if I'm not mistaken.

mx518 were the ones you would have seen in EB - I have picked up a couple semi-recently.. but haven't found many. Looking to buy another one to put in storage for later on.

My 510 still works, but unlike yourself i have come prepared. a long time ago when EB were having one of their 2 for $50 sale campaign's; i picked up another 510, my reasoning was that i liked the feel of the 510 so much that i just had to be prepared for when it inevitably stops working. it really is a superb mouse for gaming. thankfully though the first one hasn't shown any signs of breakdown. good for me i guess :P

damn you guys hahaha You took all the mice that were in the market. I remember seeing lots of them so I said " nah.. I'll buy a spare one later or until my MX510 starts giving me trouble". I hope to find something similar, maybe I'll go for the MX518. I wonder how the G9 will turn out? Although I know laser is shitty and sometimes skips depending on the surface and on low sens... but on the other end it might end up to be a good mouse. I really want to stick to logitech because my MX500 and MX510 turned out to be really good.

i have a mx 518 lyin around till i decided to go G7 which is totally annoyin due to the fact that battery dies so quick and also dies when in the middle of something important. Atm im using a DeathAdder which i haven't noticed anything significant compared to mx 518

neva the less mx 518 differently a good mouse, if you have a hard time tryin to find some in shops you could probably grab some off ebay. Dont get me wrong DeathAdder is also an awesome mouse in my opinion ... then again im asian who the fuck listens to that.

pablo, the first mouse picture posted (by neg) isnt the 3.0, i think thats the 1.0a
but yeah, intellimouse explorer 3.0 is mad :)
the first version of 3.0 had v sensitive buttons, but the rerelease is a lot better. its also easier to grip, and i think they upgraded the mouse engine on it too

its all personal preference :) just go with whatever you feel right with

I use a Logitech G3.

MX300/500 are the best from Logitech.

Razor DeathAdder seems to be the most responsive mouse.

Google the ESReality Mouse Guide.

My G5 is dieing on its ass, So i've decided to check out a Razer Copperhead. Will wait and see how that goes, as there is apparently heaps of hype about them. Have a black Microsoft OEM as backup :)

iv used the ms oem, 518mx, g5 and now Death Adder

i'd have to say the 518mx was my favourite, im hating the death adder, its way too light and precise for a left handed person playing right handed, if u like the ms oem or 1.x, you will like the death adder.
the g5 is ok but overall 518mx > g5

im gonna order another 518mx right now

has anyone tried the g9 ?

esreality mouse guide - final results as measured by 'perfect control limit': http://www.esreality.com/?a=longpost&id=1265679&page=21
i thought that would be more important than all the other crap the guy took into account for the final result. go to next page if you want his opinion, but as far as i care, control is what would matter ot me when buying a mouse.

ediT: LOL ugliest mouse ever : http://www.esreality.com/?a=post&id=1445081
